Learn · Lesson 2 of 8

Give work in one line, then share the link.

This is the screen you will use most. You type the work the way you would say it. Fixed rules pick out the person, the due time and the proof, and show them back to you. Then you share one link with the person.

What you will be able to do

Give a piece of work with a person, a due time and the proof you want, from one typed line.
Correct anything that was read wrong before the work is given.
Share the link from your own number, and make work repeat.
Step by step

The steps, on the real screens.

  1. Open Tasks. It opens on “My day”. The box at the top is headed “Give work in one line”.
  2. Type the line. Under “Type it the way you would say it”, write for example: Pooja, cut the Diwali reel by 4 pm, link.
  3. Read the chips after “We understood:”. They show the work, the person, the due time and the proof, for example “Link proof”. An amber chip is a question, such as “Who? Pick a person” or “When? Pick a due time”.
  4. Tap a chip, or press Change, to correct it. A form opens with “What is the work”, Who, “Due (India time)”, Repeats, and the “Proof wanted” boxes: Photo, File, Link and Number. Number opens four more boxes: “What the number is”, “Lowest allowed”, “Highest allowed” and Unit. You can also write tick lines, one per line.
  5. Press “Give work”. A green note says the work was created, and adds: “It is not shared yet.”
  6. Share it. Press the Share button, which carries the person’s first name, to send the ready message from your own number. Or press “Copy message” and paste it where you like. The portal records only that you pressed the button.
  7. Find it in the list below. The tabs are All, Waiting, To approve, Done and Missed. Open the work to see “Shared” and “Link opened”.
Sign-up is not open yet. These steps follow the screens as they are built today, and a label may change before launch.

Common mistakes

Four ways a line goes nowhere.

Giving the work and not sharing it. Nothing goes out by itself. Until you share, the task page says Shared: “Not yet”.
Leaving out the time. Work cannot be given without a due time. The chip asks “When? Pick a due time”.
Typing a name that is not in Team. The line matches names from your People list. Add the person first.
Retyping the line after fixing a chip. There is no need. A part you corrected by hand is kept, and the line no longer overwrites it.

Questions about giving work

A name from your Team list, a day or a time after words such as by, before, at or till, and proof words such as photo, file, link or number. They are fixed rules, and what was not found is asked for as a chip you tap.
The person chip turns into a question, “Which Pooja? Pick one”, and you choose from the list before the work is given.
The owner can give work to anyone. A manager can give work only to people in their own branch.
The manager shares it in a message from their own number, with the Share button or by copying the message. Staff install nothing and need no password: the link opens one page for that piece of work.
